flydubai and Air Canada Announce a Codeshare Partnership

flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has announced a new partnership with Air Canada to offer customers traveling between Canada, the Middle East, East Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, and Southern Asia more convenient travel options.

Subject to final regulatory approval, Air Canada’s marketing code will be added to nine routes operated by flydubai from Dubai. This will allow customers to travel to these destinations with the issuance of a single ticket. The nine routes include Bahrain, Dammam, Jeddah, Madinah, and Muscat in the GCC, as well as Colombo and Karachi in the Indian Subcontinent.

Furthermore, through an interline arrangement, customers will have seamless connections in Dubai to over 60 destinations served by flydubai in the Middle East, East Africa, and Southern Asia, including Djibouti, Kathmandu, and the Maldives. More than 30 of these destinations are exclusive to flydubai and not served by other Air Canada partners.

Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, expressed his pleasure in adding Air Canada to their list of partners and offering their passengers a seamless travel experience. He looks forward to growing the partnership and providing the convenience of connecting through Dubai’s aviation hub.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada, stated that the partnership with flydubai expands their connectivity to the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent, which are significant sources of immigration and travel to Canada. He emphasized that this partnership complements Air Canada’s nonstop service to Dubai and their relationship with Emirates, flydubai’s codeshare partner. The goal is to enhance the networks and create a better travel experience for customers.

The two airlines also plan to improve the connection process in Dubai and intend to introduce expanded features and benefits for their respective loyalty program members later this year.
