Emirates expands global connectivity with a series of new partnerships and routes, opening up access to nearly 1,700 additional cities worldwide.
Over the past year, the airline has doubled the number of cities beyond its network, offering travelers a seamless journey to new destinations across six continents. This expansion, achieved through strategic partnerships with 31 codeshare, 118 interline, and 13 rail and helicopter service partners, significantly enhances Emirates’ ability to connect the world.
With 162 partners in over 100 countries, Emirates is setting a new standard for connectivity by providing more options for travelers with seamless single-ticket itineraries, improved baggage transfers, and access to exclusive lounges. The airline’s global reach now means that more destinations are accessible than ever before, ensuring a smooth travel experience at every step.
A New Era of Global Reach
In the past year, Emirates launched 16 new partnerships, including notable codeshares with Avianca and Batik Air Malaysia, as well as interline agreements with airlines like SriLankan Airlines, Condor, and Flynas. These collaborations have enabled more than 61,000 passengers each week to connect on shared networks between Emirates and its partners, making popular destinations even more reachable.
For customers flying with partner airlines, Emirates’ robust network of over 140 destinations, coupled with the ease of connecting through its Dubai hub, offers a frictionless travel experience. Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airline, emphasizes, “In the last year, we’ve doubled down on our strategy of deepening our global presence and expanding our footprint across six continents by forging new partnerships…to provide a huge choice of onwards destinations, connectivity options, and seamless ‘last mile’ access for travelers like never before.”
From Planes to Trains: Innovative Travel Solutions
One of Emirates’ most innovative steps has been its foray into rail partnerships, enabling customers to travel seamlessly from plane to train. Emirates now offers fast connections to cities across Europe through agreements with Trenitalia, Spanish Rail Renfe, Austrian Rail OBB, and Swedish Rail SJ. These rail partners provide convenient on-ground transfers, allowing travelers to explore multiple cities on a single ticket, creating flexibility and expanding travel possibilities across Europe.
Additionally, Emirates was the first full-service carrier to enter into an interline partnership with BLADE, an urban air-mobility company, offering helicopter flights between Nice and Monaco on a single ticket. This unique arrangement is particularly appealing to those seeking quick and luxurious connections in Europe.
Expanding Horizons Across Continents
Emirates’ growth strategy includes bolstering its network across various regions:
•The Americas: Emirates’ partnerships with United, Air Canada, and other regional carriers offer access to over 375 cities across North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean Islands.
•Europe: Travelers can explore over 380 cities through Emirates’ seven codeshare and 33 interline partners, including Condor, ITA Airways, and Air Malta. Rail partnerships further enhance connectivity across countries like Germany, France, and Italy.
•Asia: With 12 codeshare and 42 interline partners, Emirates connects travelers to over 500 cities across Asia, from the Far East to the Indian Ocean.
•Australia: Emirates’ longstanding partnership with Qantas provides seamless travel to over 85 Australian cities. Qantas passengers can also reach more than 45 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa via Emirates.
•Africa: Emirates’ extensive network in Africa, supported by five codeshare and 18 interline partners, covers over 210 regional points, offering greater access to smaller destinations and unique experiences.
Enhancing Travel Experiences
Emirates continues to prioritize customer satisfaction through enhanced travel experiences. Its cornerstone partnership with flydubai exemplifies this, offering over 230 destinations through 275 codeshare flights daily. The joint network has connected over 17.5 million passengers since its inception in 2017, underscoring the success of integrated travel options.
For leisure travelers, Emirates’ interline partnership with Maldivian allows access to 16 islands beyond Malé, providing a gateway to the stunning Maldives. Similarly, partnerships with regional carriers like Pro Flight Zambia facilitate unique regional getaways, such as exploring the Lower Zambezi National Park from Lusaka.
Major partnerships with United, Air Canada, and Qantas ensure Emirates’ customers have unmatched access to over 350 destinations across the Americas, Australia, and New Zealand, complete with reciprocal loyalty benefits and exclusive lounge access.
